Myers
Park
Myers Park is an affluent neighborhood located in South Charlotte and referred to as the Beverly Hills of Charlotte for it’s concentration of wealth and mansions.
Myers
Park is one of the premier communities in
North America. In 1905 John Nolen, a Harvard Graduate, came to
Charlotte and teamed up with George Stephans to design
Myers
Park. Nolen’s mentor was Fred Olmstead Jr. whose father designed
Central Park and the Biltmore Estate. In 1986 the Myers Park Foundation published a book called “The Legacy”, The Myers Park story.
The community is characterized by the big old oak trees that shade its streets along with an array of historic mansions and bungalow style homes. It is a pedestrian friendly community where you will see joggers and walkers on a daily basis.
Myers
Park is also home to The Carolinas Medical Center and
Freedom
Park.
