The Mint Hill Real Estate Market will be getting a much needed Mall size retail development located on a 200 acres tract in the eastern Mecklenburg County.  The project is bordered by Union County Real estate communities such as Stallings, and Indian Trail. It is just a few exits from both the Harrisburg NC Real Estate Market as well as the Matthews NC Real Estate Market.

General Growth Properties INC. of Chicago and Charlotte NC developer Childress Klein Properties are teaming up together on the 1.3 million square foot open-air upscale retail and entertainment center which will be smaller than The Southpark Mall which is nestled within the Southpark Residential and commercial community and the Concord Mills Mall located within the Concord, N.C. community in Cabarrus County.

The design will incorporate features similar to Childress Klein Properties' Promenade on Providence Shopping Center located at the center of Providence Road and I-485 just South of the Ballantyne Real Estate Community. Probably a more similar comparison would be to that of Durham North Carolina's The Streets of SouthPoint. Its cluster of Shops and restaurants along with three water fountains that run along main street gives the impression of the traditional American downtown street.

The project has been in the works or over 3 years and is the latest example of I-485's ability to convert a mixture of rural residential and pasture's to much needed retail, commercial and Residential Real Estate. It will serve as the Gateway to The Mint Hill real estate community which has been underserved for years by a lack of shopping, restaurants and over all quality retailers. The people who reside in the Mint Hill Residential communities are forced to drive to the Carolina Place Mall in the Pineville Residential Community or to Charlotte's Southpark community. The Bridges at Mint Hill would rest approximately halfway in between Southpark Mall, Concord Mills Mall and Northlake Mall, which is located of I77 in the University City area of Northern Mecklenburg County. It is expected that the center will draw patrons from the Union county Real Estate Market, Carbarrus county Real Estate Market and the Mecklenburg County Real Estate Market. For Folks considering area relocation to Charlotte the Bridges may serve as an attractive feature when selecting which community could be best for them.

Details have not been released yet on how many stores may call the Bridges of Mint Hill home. However, Malls in the 1 million square foot range traditional contain over 100 stores. So far Belks department store has signed on. The center is expected to have 2 more free standing anchors of similar size plus specialty stores, restaurants, a book store, a movie theater and a hotel.
