Fort Mill

The town of Fort Mill was established in 1873. It takes its name from a colonial era fort built by the British and a grist mill on nearby Steele Creek. Fort Mill grew rapidly in the late 1800's when textile mills were established

Fort Mill is located off the 1-77 corridor in the northern most part of South Carolina. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the state and Fort Mill schools are some of the best in the state. The city has a population of arouhnd 35K and climbing rapidly. The average age being 34 and a household income average of $46,200. Charlotte Knights AAA baseball team is also located in Fort Mill. It is known as area 17.
